Ademola Adefolahan (born 1996), popularly known as Fireboy DML, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is signed to YBNL Nation, an independent record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide Badoo after Adekunle Gold left the label.

He was born into the family of Adefolahan’s in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He was also a member of his local church choir and he is presently signed to YBNL, which is owned by popular Nigerian rapper Olamide Badoo.
Fireboy DML completed his primary and secondary education in Abeokuta, Ogun State, South-Western part of Nigeria.
He later gained admission into Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU) where he studied English Language.
While studying at OAU, he showed his love for music and was well known in the school.
Fireboy DML Career
On the 16th of October 2018, Fireboy DML, was signed into YBNL by Olamide who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Record Label.
He was signed into YBNL with the aim of replacing Adekunle Gold who left the record label after releasing his debut album titled “Life”.
His breakthrough single titled “Jealous” first appeared on YBNL Nation’s collaborative album YBNL Mafia family (2018), before the song was being re-released on March 25th, 2020. The song is composed of guitar riffs, traditional drums and percussion; it combines Africa’s harmonies with elements of country and soul music. “Jealous was produced by Cracker Mallo and is centred around love and the complicated feelings that go along with it.
The visual for jealous was directed by Director K who is a Surulere breed.
The song became a hit song almost immediately and became widely accepted by his fans and lovers of Nigerian Afro-pop music.
This single has also made it to top 5 of almost all listings and music billboard charts right now.
On June 14, 2020, Fireboy released another single titled “What if I say”. The song was produced by Pheelz The Wicked Producer, who consolidated a blend of percussion, ambient synth harmonies, and a drum riff into the production. The visual for “what if I say” was directed by TG Omori.
On August 1, 2020, He released the Echo the Guru-produced single titled “King”; in it, he declared his worth to his love interest. The visual for “king” was directed by TG Omori.
Fireboy DML released his debut album Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps on November 29, 2020. It was initially scheduled for release on November 25, the LTG album consists 13 tracks and doesn’t feature any guest artiste; it had over 6 million streams on Spotify three days after its release.
It received generally positive review from music critics, but was criticized for being labelled as an “Afro-Life” record instead of an R&B album. The album was supported by the previously released singles “Jealous”, “What If I Say” and “King”.
