Yobe State University Admission Requirements.
The school’s admissions committee has disclosed that before a applicant can be considered for admission into YSU, he/she must meet the requirements below:
Requirement 1: Candidate must have registered for the UTME and chose YSU as his/her first choice ONLY.
Requirement 2: Candidate must have passed the UTME, which is, by scoring the JAMB minimum cut off marks and/or the institutional cut-off marks for the programmes applied.
Requirement 3: Candidates must have gotten the correct UTME subject combinations for the programme applied for.
Requirement 4: Direct entry candidates/applicants are required to have gotten the minimum ‘A’ Level qualification/grade which are relevant to his/her chosen programme.
Requirement 5: Applicants (UTME and DE) are required and must have a minimum of five (5) relevant passes at credit level, including English and Mathematics in any of the following:
- Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE),
- National Examination Council (NECO),
- National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB),
- National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) in not more than two (2) sittings;
Requirement 6: Candidate must participate in the YSU Post UTME screening exercise within the prescribed dates set for the screening.
Requirement 7: The school admission board requires all candidates seeking admission to upload his/her ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level result(s), (O’level for UTME/ A’Level for DE) on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) platform, before the PostUTME screening/admission list.
Candidates should note that even if they meet with the above requirements, the University which is guided by its internal policy for screening and ascertaining the merit of all applications, reserves 100% right to admit candidates into the tertiary institution based on the availability of admission spaces, where admissions quota assigned on the basis of states and local governments of origin.
