Chelsea fans disagree on Graham Potter verdict as Todd Boehly sent emergency Thomas Tuchel plea

Chelsea fans have come to a disagreement over the future of Graham Potter following the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United. The head coach has become subject to criticism from some sections of the club’s fanbase as the west Londoners head into the World Cup outside of the European qualification places.

A handful of supporters have began to ask questions of Potter, questioning the 47-year-old’s ability to lead the club into a new era. Chelsea are now winless in five Premier League games and have tumbled down the table, with Brighton, Liverpool and Manchester United in the way of a top-four position.

But, despite the flurry of condemnation, just as many Blues fans have defended Potter and shifted the blame onto Todd Boehly. The American billionaire has been scolded for sacking Thomas Tuchel and then throwing the newly-appointed Chelsea boss into the deep end amid a period of turmoil.

So, with that being said, football.london has collated some of the reaction towards the Chelsea boss and the co-owner.

@lewdawg tweeted: “Potter is actually the victim. Boehly dragged him into the most hostile situation ever with the worst squad we’ve seen in years, all in the middle of an injury crisis.”

@CatenaccioEra tweeted: “I feel no connection at all to Boehly and Potter’s project. I’m sorry but i admit i can’t handle this culture change. Especially since it’s such a drop down. This is not the club i fell in love with.”

  1. I hope no need potters were criticise ..he is working on what tuchel was planted …it is not such easy task for him to improve Chelsea game in such little duration …let him make it gradually …blues will shine again but not sooner ….for now let gunners mek London colourful….I love arsenal than Chelsea and I remain gunners forever but am not happy to see blues quality could be compromise..
